Reinterpreting East African craftsmanship through a modern lens, EILAF uses traditional Sudanese techniques to create artisanal accessories that promote and preserve the area’s indigenous heritage. Founded by Sudanese-American Eilaf Osman – whose love for design started in school when she made bags to connect with her classmates – the label won the prestigious Fashion Trust Arabia Prize for accessories in 2022. Discover our selection of handbags – crafted from leather in Ubrique, Spain – that feature handwoven details produced in the Rwenzori Mountains, spotlighting geometric tribal patterns and dyes created from native natural flowers, such as the brand’s circular Medani style that pays tribute to Osman’s hometown.
